German manufacturer of table sliding saws, surface planers and moulders, based in Ottobeuren in the Allgäu.

History

2022

Martin presents the next generation of machines with a new design and the ConnectControl control. The models are extended by the sliding table saws T 66 and T 77 as well as the T 14 and T 29 milling machines. With the planing machine T 32 the range is completed by a combined planing and thicknessing machine.

Annually, more than 65% of the machines are used in over 70 countries around the world. Since 1948, more than 70,000 woodworking machines in 60 types have been delivered all over the world.

2016

The thickness planer T 45 and T 54 are being equipped with the x-plane spiral cutter block, which creates a material thickness of 1,5 mm.

2015

Market Lounge of Q-FIN

Q-FIN stands for the Quality Finishing technical method, whereas the lacquer sanding is no longer required in the window constructing process.

2014

The sliding table saw MARTIN T 60 C will be introduced in the market as succeeding model for the T60A and T 65 with technical innovations and modifications.

The panel saws T 60 and T 74 are produced

The moulder T 92 with belt-less direct-drive of the tools is developed. The divisions of Martin are about 40% table sliding saws and 30% for each shapers and planing machines.

2003

Development of the T 45 Contour, the first machine that is able to plan and profile the entire width.

2001

Peter Martin, the son of Max Martin joins the management. Construction of the sliding table saw T 73 .

1999

T 20 Duo with control electronics. Establishing the subsidiary MARTIN Woodworking Machinery in the United States.

Tilting arbor shaper T 26

1996

Construction of the table sliding saw T 72A with a new scoring saw unit that allows adjustment of the height, lateral position and scoring width while the machine is running.

1995

Construction of the thickness planer T 44 and the CNC tilting arbor shaper T25.

1991

The four side planer T 90 with patented automatic table lubrication is developed.

1984

Production of beam saws is stopped. In total 177 pieces were produced up to this day.

First surface planer T 52.

Starting the production of panel saws ( T 80 , 5 years later T 83 )

1970

Development of the world's first shaper with alternating spindle up/down, which is especially a great progress, especially in the production of windows. The T75 sliding table saw is the most sold machine with 4500 pieces.

1967

Award for thicknesser T 41 .

1964

Otto Martin dies. Then the sons Max and Otto join the company and change the sole proprietorship into the Otto Martin Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG.

1959

Starting exports to the U.S.. The T 75 is the first sliding table saw in the world with up to 45 ° tiltable blade.

1954

The surfacer T 50 is honored.

1950

Development and production of the first combined surfacer/ thicknesser. First export connections are made.

Series production of a combined circular saw, shapers and drilling machines

Opening its own foundry.

Relocation of operations to Ottobeuren.

Production of the first sheer shaper.

1925

Production of combined shapers, surface planers, band saws and combined planers. Invention of the steel-concrete compound machine frame and introduction of iron machine tables.

1922

Founded by Otto Martin in Benningen near Ottobeuren. The first machine is a combined circular saw, shaper and slot boring machine.
