SCM SANDYA

Series of wide belt sanders of the Italian machine manufacturer SCM for handicraft businesses and smaller industries.

History

The SANDYA series took over the till then series-free SCM wide belt sanders. In subsequent 4 decades SANDYA was the SCM wide belt sander which could execute all arising sanding tasks in a handicraft business.

The first SANDYA machines carried the for SCM initially typical brown-white lacquering. The machines' names were "SANDYA", extended for the configuration of units. "C" stands for sanding roller unit and „L“ stands for sanding pad unit.

From around 1989 the SCM SANDYA UNO-came about. They were first lacquered beige-green, later dark green. With these machines initially merely combined sanding roller shoe units were available. The term "C" still stands for sanding roller units, "S" stand for sanding pad units and "CS" stands for the combination unit.

„SANDYA WIN“ was the smallest-broadband sanding machines with only one sanding unit and 630 sanding width. It was built from around 1995 to around 2010, depending on the year of manufacturing first with green and then with white coating.

The „SANDYA 10“ up to „SANDYA 90“ may be a familiar term to most of the woodworkers. They were brought to the market in 1994. The last machine from the series has been delivered in the new white lacquering.

In the year 2002 SCM changed the terminology to a one digit type description.

From ca. 2010 on the type description has been 3-digits. „SANDYA 300“, „SANDYA 600“ and „SANDYA 900“ offered handicraft businesses the entire palette on technological sophistication, from slicing unit CHP up to chevron belt unit with space for up to three sanding units.

With the brand restructuring in the year of 2017 the series terminology "SANDYA" has been dropped in favour of the term dmc sd.
