Simple corner joint of two angular connected, elongated components. Usually, mitre describes the bisector of the connection angle. This has to be used for profiled frames and rails, so that the profile lines meet in the device for mitre cuts. For different workpiece thickness, the result is a so-called false mitre with different angles at the connection parts.

Typical tools for cutting mitres are mitre cutting load, mitre punch or (double) mitre saw.
