Feeding material to resaws manually is generally not possible because these implement the lengthwise cutting of solid wood with a large cross section. The workpieces are correspondingly heavy and / or must be mechanically fed into the system during the cutting process due to their cross section.

Because resaws generate straight cuts exclusively, (see standard band saw machines - also for curved cuts) special feed devices are used, which consist of 2 parts.

• Stop with rollers, distance from the saw blade always adjustable, if applicable also tiltable
• Feed device with feed rollers, which can vary in terms of shape, number and configuration (e.g.: Arris rail feed roller)

Functions of the feed device

• Precise guidance of the workpieces with straight splice cuts and diagonal cuts
• Setting and maintenance of the desired cutting width
• Feed motion
