Mode of Operation

The tools are attached in the chuck without the ability to move. The tightening and loosening of the tool from the chuck is only possible using thermal induction, by means of a shrinking generator.

Advantages

• Very high rotational accuracy because of the backlash-free fit
• Can stand high cutting forces
• Ideal for long tools
• Very high speeds possible due to the high rotational accuracy
• Insensitive to defects, since in comparison to similar systems (Hydraulic Chuck), no single parts are present

Disadvantages

• The changing of the tool in the chuck is only possible with special equipment (Shrink generator).
• Only one shaft diameter per tool holder is possible. (With the AllGrip Shrink fit tool holders, the company Bilz has developed a system, which can hold different sahft diameters using a collet.)
