Under the name Daltons Wadkin this trading house is very well known in Great Britain. What is less well known is that as well as trading and reconditioning machinery, Daltons Wadkin also manufactures machinery itself.

What started as a small trading station "Daltons" in the backyard developed through the efforts of several generations of the family into a successful company to this day. Daltons gained notoriety by actively influencing the design of woodworking machines. This resulted in intensive relationships with machine manufacturers such as WADKIN Ltd whose preferred dealer Daltons became in 1957. Daltons at all times operated its own workshop to repair and overhaul machinery. Daltons continued to develop this branch of machine reconditioning. This enabled them to continue the production of PHILLIPSON sanding machines in 1998. When in 2010 the machine manufacturer WADKIN closed down for good after years of financial difficulties, Daltons acquired the rights to the name and design of the WADKIN machines and continued their manufacture under the name WADKIN.

Daltons Wadkin has also grown beyond national borders and distributes machines in Asia, especially India, and the Middle East.
